30 lakh businesses file GST returns, system robust: GSTN Chairman 

 NEW DELHI: Citing nearly 30 lakh GST returns that have been filed so far for August, GSTN Chairman Ajay Bhushan Pandey today pointed to robustness of the network system which has faced glitches. 

Pandey, who assumed charge at earlier this month, said that GST Network is in a "very sound state" and the quantum of returns filed are a testimony to the system's strength. 

He asserted that problems or glitches which exist in specific pockets will be dealt with expeditiously.  ..

GST implementation smoother than expected: Jaitley Mumbai, Sep 22 (PTI) Finance Minister  Arun Jaitley  today said the implementation of the new taxation regime GST is going smoother than expected in initial phase. The decision-making mechanism at the top between the Centre and the states has been "reasonably institutionalised" and the mechanism created to address day-to-day issues is robust, he said.
